This product is sodium salt of cellulose carboxymethyl ether, belongs to anionic cellulose ether, is white or milky white fibrous powder or particle, density 0.5-0.7 g/cm3, almost odorless, tasteless, with hygroscopicity. It is easy to disperse into transparent colloidal solution in water and insoluble in organic solvent such as ethanol. The 1% aqueous solution has a pH of 6.5 ~ 8.5. When the pH of >10 or <5, the viscosity of the glue decreases significantly, and the performance is the best when the pH is 7. On the thermal stability, viscosity increases rapidly under 20 ℃, and 45 ℃ when changes slowly, above 80 ℃ heating for a long time can make its colloid denaturation and significantly lower viscosity and performance. Soluble in water, transparent solution; It is stable in alkaline solution, easy to hydrolyze in case of acid, precipitate will occur when PH value is 2-3, and precipitate will occur in case of polyvalent metal salt reaction.
CMC can be used as a coating agent, emulsifier, dispersant, leveling agent, binder, can make the solid parts of the coating evenly distributed in the solvent, so that the coating is not stratified for a long time, but also a large number of applications in the paint.
CMC is more effective than sodium gluconate in removing calcium ions as a flocculant, with a capacity of 1.6 ml/g for cation exchange.
CMC is used as paper sizing agent in papermaking industry, which can obviously improve the paper's dry and wet strength, oil resistance, ink absorption and water resistance.
CMC is used as hydrosol in cosmetics and thickening agent in toothpaste, and its dosage is about 5%.
